Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Greensboro?
​​Not if it's placed on your driveway or other private property. If any part of the dumpster will block a street or sidewalk, the City of Greensboro requires a permit whenever part of a sidewalk or street is blocked in a way that changes traffic flow, parking, or pedestrian paths. You must apply and pay at least 24 hours before the dumpster is placed, and requests can be submitted online as a Temporary Right-of-Way Closure Permit.
